Landon and Tristen Dye of Marion are pictured after the Christmas parade on Sunday, as they tell Santa Claus what they want for Christmas. Patrick and Sarah Dye are the boys’ parents.

Marion Elementary School students of the month for November were Johnny Zieammerman, Anderson Waddell, Jaden Slifer, Chisholm Waner, Ashden Alcorn, Eli Smith, Luke Lanning, Alissa Adams, Skylar Thornbro, Emily Schafers, Cherokee Hurst, Cade Harms, Erika Hess, Jacob Spachek, and Jessi Lewman.

Roy Houdyshell of rural Lincolnville is pictured with a regular purple-top turnip that tips the scale at nearly 12 pounds. Houdyshell, who has planted turnips for 30 years, says this is the biggest one he has ever grown.

On display during the month of December at Marion City Library is a portion of the collection of nativity sets belonging to Nancy Methvin of rural Marion County.

Junior Girl Scouts are pictured as they carry boxes of food into the Marion County Emergency Food Bank with help from their troop leaders Bobbie Richmond and Robyn Brooks.
