A wig salesman could doubtless do a good business in Marion next Tuesday. The fellows who are going to argue at the big Brotherhood banquet Monday night that “masculine traits are superior to feminine traits” will doubtless need them.

A cut in the price of gasoline was announced Tuesday of this week. The reduction is the largest single cut, it is said, that has ever been made in this territory. It amounts to four cents a gallon and the filling stations are now selling gas at 20.6 cents a gallon.

Entertainment given last Wednesday evening at the Brown school where Miss Irene Keazer is teaching was a success in every way. Receipts from the cake walk following the entertainment were between thirty-five and forty dollars. The only criticism that might be offered is that the school building would not seat more than one third of those in attendance.

Propp and Propp received a carload of new Buicks the first of the week.

The high schools of the county will meet here Friday afternoon and evening to compete in the 14th annual field meet and literary contest.

Six high schools, Burns, Florence, Hillsboro, Lost Springs, Marion and Peabody will be in the field meet in the afternoon.

In the literary contest in the evening, at the new Christian church here, schools at Marion, Burns, Peabody, and Florence will be represented in oration and debate.

The new school building at Gnadenau, District No. 11, was dedicated April 25th. A big community dinner was served in cafeteria style, and a fine program of speeches, readings, and music was rendered. Practically every resident of the district was present.
