The authorities have notified the hotel proprietors and the school board of the requirements of the law passed by the last legislature regarding fire escapes in public buildings, and all parties are preparing to comply with the new order.

A short time ago Herbert M. Thorp purchased of his father, H.M. Thorp, the old home residence on the hill and will erect a new home soon.

Notice is hereby given that the firm of Richardson & Bryan has been dissolved, Mr. Charles Bryan retiring from the firm. The business will be continued under the firm name of Richardson Bros.

All debts due the firm of Richardson & Bryan are due and payable to Richardson Bros. who assume all obligations of the old firm.

The western approach on the south side of the stone arch bridge is being rebuilt, work was begun Monday. When the work is finished it will be a fine concrete job with iron railing.

The store room occupied by Mr. Mayes, belonging to V.E. Healea & Co., is being fitted up for an automobile room being established by Ben Hirschler of Hillsboro.
