Marion county is now harvesting its finest crop of wheat. This is saying a great deal, for Marion county has raised some mighty fine wheat crops. But we believe that as an all-around everywhere good crop, this one beats them all. Thirty-five and forty bushels are freely predicted from many fields, and thirty bushels will be too common to talk about. It is, so far, a glorious year for Kansas.

Mr. C.F. Brooker, manager of the Chingawasa Health Resort, has determined that if Marion won’t celebrate the Fourth of July, Chingawasa will. And so he is arranging for a big time out there. It is a delightful place to spend a summer day, any time, and will be especially so with the attractions of the Fourth. Chingawasa train will leave Main street and Elgin Hotel every hour.

That little Al Flower sheep item last week brought Mr. Elliott, of Wilson township, to town Monday. He reports 49 sheep shearing 675 pounds—beating Al about a pound to the sheep. He says Al has a nice little flock of sheep, but they can’t shear with him.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tidyman are greatly enlarging their residence on Third street, one block south of Main, and will turn it into a hotel.
