Lots in the new Queen City Town Co.’s North Park Addition to Marion are going off like the traditional “hot cakes.”

The plat has only been filed two weeks, and the sale of lots was really not begun till the middle of last week, and yet between 60 and 70 lots have already been sold, aggregating about $4,000 in amount. We call this quite a boom.

The old First National Bank building on the corner of Main and 3rd Sts. is being fitted up this week for the reception of a new clothing store to be put in at once.

The Baptist ladies had miserable weather for their New England supper Tuesday evening but were tolerably successful and bravely continued the feast Wednesday night with worse weather against them.

The Sunday ordinance is now in force. We think it will be generally observed to the benefit of individuals and to the credit of the town.

Colonel Burch has returned and has shown us some advance sheets of the illustrated Hand Book of Marion and Marion County he is printing for our people. It will be an elegant book and will be ready for delivery in a few days.

A fine rain fell here Sunday night, and it has been drizzling nearly ever since.
