Students dressed as clowns May 7 when fifth and sixth graders at Marion Elementary School presented a concert, “Clowns.” Jacob Spachek is pictured as he crosses the stage on stilts as part of the program.
Five friends who graduated from Marion High School in 1956 gathered recently at the home of Carmen (Siebert) Huson in Weston, Florida, for fun in the sun.
Huson’s classmates attending were Kay Navrat of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Judy (Coons) Gourley of Rogue River, Oregon; Connie (Long) Harrington of Bonner Springs; and DeLoris (Reed) Mehlinger of Kansas City, Missouri.
Perry and Barb Steiner and family of Marion will be hosts for a student from Brazil next year. Jadine Siqueira of Niteroi, Brazil, will arrive in August and attend Marion High School during the coming school year.
Marion National Bank has announced that Marion native Chad Buchholz has been hired as vice president of the bank’s new branch in Emporia.
Buchholz graduated from Marion High School in 1998 and from Emporia State University in 2004. Since then, he has worked for Wells Fargo Bank in Colorado Springs, where he managed three locations.
