Members of Good News Christian Church provided a live nativity Sunday evening at the church. Participating were Douglas Calam, John and Olivia Dicks, Val Newton, Bob Vance, and Ruth Walker.

A large crowd gathered Saturday afternoon in downtown Marion for a chance to win gift certificates as part of the Marion County Record’s “Christmas Magic” promotion.

Winners in weekly drawings have been Robin Arocha, Sharon Bina, Terri Bishop, Colleen Brunner, Gemma Davies, Don Druse, Jackie Hett, Jody Loomis, Lois Smith, Kathleen Svitak, Shawn Voth, and Clark Whitwell.

As a way of “paying back” the community for its support, Michael Brookens will present a vocal recital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Performing Arts Center. The event will be free and open to the public.
