James C. Donahue, as president and founder of the Donahue Corporation in Tampa, has been named “1982 Kansas Small Business Person of the Year.” Donahue will go to Washington, D.C., in May for further recognition during Small Business Week.

Theresa Kroupa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Kroupa of Marion, has been selected as one of the contestants in the “Miss Kansas-USA” pageant to be held at the Kansas City, Kansas, Convention Center April 2, 3, and 4. Theresa was selected by a committee at Kansas State University where she is a student.

Judy Tajchman and Jay Smith exchanged double ring marriage vows March 6 in St. Mark Catholic Church. Father Gerald Pathe was the officiating clergyman.

Stan Williams, Marion High School senior, and Stan Wyatt, senior at Centre High School, were named to the all-Cottonwood Valley League basketball squad. MHS seniors Bryan Hess and Tom Schaffer were cited for honorable mention.

Denise Winter, as Dorothy, is pictured as she applies a little oil to the rusty joints of the tin woodman, Chad Freeborn, Friday in a Marion Elementary School production of “The Wizard of Oz.”

Laurie Laubhan, bride-elect of Tom Koslowsky of Hillsboro, was honored with a miscellaneous bridal shower Sunday at the home of Vicki Jackson.
