Saturday will be a big day in Marion. There will be a full program of events to appeal to persons of all ages — and not the least of these will be the “first annual” tiddlywinks tournament.

Other events will include a free square dance, a slo-pitch softball tournament, and a “roll back prices” sale by Marion merchants.

The subject of this week’s “Personality Profile’ is Margaret Pickering, Marion’s PRIDE chairman who is leading the work toward a second Pacemaker award.

About 70 Florence Middle School sixth grade students toured, on Friday, the construction site of the Wolf Creek nuclear reactor near Burlington. A nuclear power specialist rode on each bus and fielded numerous questions from the students.

Robert T. Stephan, attorney general of Kansas, will be the commencement speaker at Marion High School graduation exercises Tuesday in Marion gymnasium.
