Reuben Rempel and his wife Alice, who live nearly 15 miles northeast of Marion, are the subjects of this week’s “Personality Profile.”

Mrs. Jack Vogt and daughter Christina are authors of “Searching for Home,” a novel that tells the story of a handful of hardy children who traveled by train from New York City to the Midwest at the turn of the century.

Golden wedding anniversary celebrations are not common and 60th anniversaries nearly unheard of — but this week Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Svitak celebrated their diamond, 75 years of marriage.

Jayson Hanschu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Hanschu of Ramona, won first place in the 13-year-old division of the district Punt, Pass, and Kick competition held Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Jayson received a trophy and a Kansas City Chiefs uniform.

A banquet will honor the district winners on Saturday and on Sunday area competition will be held during the Kansas City-San Diego game.
