Representatives of the U.S. Corps of Army Engineers will be in Marion Dec. 9 to consider combined problems and possibilities of flood control and water supply on Mud Creek through Marion. This survey has been authorized by Congress.

Jane Brunner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Brunner of Ramona, was crowned 1964 Homecoming Queen at Centre High School Oct. 16. Her attendants were Barbara Riffel, Kathy Kroupa, and Pauline Winter.

A new all-steel building has been constructed and a new wood structure office is being built for Bob Vinduska’s Pilsen Automotive Machine and Repair Shop.

Nine MHS seniors will conclude their high school football careers this Friday at the game in Council Grove. They are Gene Schimpf, Larry Ensey, Richard Winter, Francis Breech, Dick Maggard, Ed Parrack, Gilbert Johnson, Dennis Swanson, and Dale Fowler.

Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ollenberger and two small children of Hillsboro moved to the county jail last weekend and will take their new position as residents in charge of the county jail. They replace Mr. and Mrs. Pete Pankratz who have moved back to their former home here.
