City of Marion will have a new street sweeper, with delivery expected about Feb. 1. The old sweeper has served for over 15 years. The commission also agreed to reactivate the spring in Central Park. It will be dug out so it will flow again.

Connie Jost was crowned Queen of Courts Friday night. Her attendants were Barbara Christensen and Becky Berry. The queen was escorted by Gene Schimpf, the attendants by Richard Soyez and Larry Ensey. Judy Broadstreet, 1964 Queen of Courts crowned Miss Jost. Her escort was Don Westerhaus.

Everett Burkhead, Marion, received $50 in this week’s Cash Days drawing. Another winner was Ralph Klein. Peabody, $5. Not present when their names were drawn were Mrs. Raymond Kraus, Albert Uphoff, and G.R. Holmes.

David Goertz, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Goertz, combined skill, alertness, and good luck to become one of the winners in the “4-H Catch-It-Calf” contest this week at the National Western Livestock show in Denver.
