The new switchboard at the Marion Municipal Power Plant will be cut into service during the night early Friday morning. It is expected that the board will be “cut-in” about 1 a.m. and that all power will be off for about an hour. Those with electric clocks should take this into consideration, it was stated.

Plans are complete for the district Cottonwood Valley Poultry Barbecue and Jamboree to be held in Marion March 19. Several hundred visitors from this county and surrounding counties are expected. One of the highlights will be the barbecue chicken lunch at which hundreds of specially selected chickens will be barbecued and served.

$100,000 expansion program at St. Luke Hospital, in which another 25 to 30 beds will be added in a new wing to the west of the present structure, is in the planning stage according to Sister M. Ferdinand, hospital superintendent.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bratton announce the re-opening Sunday of their Kingfisher’s Inn at the lake. The popular eating place has been closed for the past two months.

Mr. and Mrs. Lou Vinduska invited the boys from the Pilsen 1st grade Sunday afternoon to help Terry celebrate his 7th birthday. They were Thomas Klenda, Tommy Stroda, Frank Holub, Daniel Rudolph, and Johnny Loney. Larry Rudolph was unable to be present.
