Holcom-Cook Furniture and Appliance Center will hold its grand opening next Wednesday. The store building has been remodeled into a split-level showroom of three sales floors. In addition to Holcom, sales personnel includes Walter Oelschlager, George King, Gary Carlson, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cather.

The area is having sunshine, the first time in almost a week. We have had lots of rain, some snow, and altogether around four inches of moisture in the past week.

Rehearsal of the city band will be held Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Ruby Reed, dramatics and speech coach at Marion High School, took play cast members to the district meet at Clay Center Friday where they received a first ranking for their play, “Major Roberts Reports.” The cast included James Gilbert, John Minear, Bruce Coe, Wayne Robertson, and Warren Gardner.
