This is the first Christmas of the satellite age. To herald the new age, American youngsters will find telescopes, missile launchers, and space platforms under the family Christmas tree.

With the announced intention of county commissioners to reserve 1958 car tags one, two, and three for themselves, it will make it less attractive for the long, early-morning “wake” session participated in each of the past few years by some 40 to 50 hardy souls.

Albert Bernhardt, Marion hardware and appliance store owner, was unanimously elected to head the Marion Chamber of Commerce for the coming year.

Buildings and contents of Comet School District No. 91, located two miles south and two east of Tampa, will be sold at auction Jan. 4. Col. Wm. Schnell is the auctioneer.

Rex L. Siebert, Marion, received $100 in this week’s Cash Day drawing. Also winning were John W. Ely, Marion, $5, and Albert Hart, Marion, $5. Clarence Lorenz of Durham missed $15 and Claud Noll, Florence, missed $15.
