Merchants who are participating in the style show to be held as a part of the Spring Trades Show March 16 met with the committee from the Chamber of Commerce Friday. Mrs. Ethel Gardner Dale, who is experienced in professional style shows and stage presentations of other kinds, is heading the committee.

Dan Brodhead and J.B. Miesse entertained at a Valentine party at the Brodhead home Saturday evening. Guests were Sarabel Wolf, Clair Hyde, Patricia Henry, Mary Margaret Hannaford, Marilyn Richmond, Alice Ward, Juanita Ford, Dennis Richards, Billy McKibbin, Johnny Newcomer, Teddy Heath and Eugene Christensen.

Friday and Saturday specials at Buckley’s Grocery include Van Camps pork & beans, 300 size can, 13 cents; Golden cream style corn, No. 2 can, 16 cents; apple juice, quart bottle, 15 cents; marshmallows, 6 oz. pkg., 19 cents; and ruby red grapefruit, 10 for 32 cents.

Bernice Hahn in her “Pilot and Planes” column tells about flights her students at the airport have been taking since soloing and completing instruction and that Leon Hayen gave first plane rides to his sister, Virginia, brothers, John and Max, and father, Walter Hayen.

While everyone seems to be happy about our new telephone service, we think a word should be said about the Mutual operators who faithfully served us. Especially Miss Lydia Sommers, night operator for many years and the many others who were so courteous, obliging, and efficient through the years.
