The current epidemic of old-fashioned measles centered its attack this week on Bown-Corby School with 85 students out of a total enrollment of 134 out, exposed, or recovering.

The Community Guild will present a minstrel April 5 at the City Building. Ethel Dale and Natalie Wheeler will direct the entertainment, which will feature specialities with end men and a chorus, plus novelty dances and songs.

Bernice Hahn, instructor at Marion airport, reports the first female to solo at the Marion airport is Mrs. Billie Reid, who made a perfect landing and said “I kept waiting for the wheels to touch,” not realizing the ship was already on the ground.

A special election will be required to decide whether the majority of voters approve licensing of a package liquor store in Marion.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hayen have received word from their son, Lt. Bernard Hayen, that he has joined his family at his home base in Tachakawa, near Tokyo. Lt. Hayen has been in Berlin since September, flying a C-54 in the airlift in central Germany.
