These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

K-150 east of Zebulon Rd.

A pedestrian who may have been drinking or using drugs was hit by a car and seriously injured while walking back and forth across K-150 at 6:08 p.m. May 29.

James D. Brunner, 33, Salina, was taken by Marion ambulance to Via Christi – St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, where was treated and later released.

Deputy Aaron Christner’s report said no test for drugs or alcohol was administered but Brunner exhibited signs of being under the influence of intoxicants. The report blamed the accident on Brunner’s inattentiveness.

Brunner was hit by a 2014 Nissan Maxima owned and driven by Edwin Lopez, 24, McPherson. The vehicle sustained front-end and windshield damage and had to be towed.

No citations were issued.

US-77 north of 80th Rd.

Brad L. Brady, 39, Junction City, hit a deer with his 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup at 9:19 p.m. May 31.

Old Mill Rd. south of 60th Rd.

Tanner R. Morris, 17, Derby, was thrown from a 2014 Victory motorcycle when it overturned while he inexplicably was riding it in a ditch at 11:45 a.m. June 1.

The motorcycle, owned by Gary Morris of the same address, was extensively damaged, but no injuries were reported.

140th Rd. west of US-77

Elizabeth M. Patterson, 38, Florence, told a deputy about an hour later that she had hit a dog at 7 p.m. June 2 while driving a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse owned by William R. Shearer of a different Florence address.

K-15 north of 130th Rd.

Robin D. Lehrman, 66, who lives just three miles away, hit a deer with his 2003 Toyota Camry at 9:36 p.m. June 3. Susan E. Lehrman, 67, of the same address was a passenger.

US-50 east of Remington Rd.

Grace Wessel, 32, Emporia, hit a deer with her 2007 Nissan Altima at 10:55 p.m. June 3. Neither she nor passenger Christopher M. Rangel, 12, of the same address was injured, but the car had to be towed.

US-77 south of 290th Rd.

A 2015 Chevrolet Traverse owned and driven by Devyn N. Cunningham, 20, Junction City, rear-ended a leased 2018 Toyota Camry driven by Luis F. Martinez, 31, Derby, after Martinez slowed for a reduced-speed zone at 4:29 p.m. June 4.

Cunningham was ticketed for allegedly following too closely. Ean Holdings of St. Louis was listed as owner of the Camry. Neither car had to be towed, and no injuries were reported.

Mustang Rd. north of 20th Rd.

Mary M. Perry, 53, Benton, was taken to Newton Medical Center for treatment of a head injury after her 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche hit a pothole at 3:26 p.m. June 5, causing the vehicle to swerve onto an embankment and her head to strike the windshield.

Deputy Kaylan Miles’s report blamed the accident on road conditions and noted that Perry could provide few details because of her injury.
