REPORTED
These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
US-56 east of Old Mill Rd.
Gladys A. James, 63, rural Marion, hit a deer at 6:42 a.m. Nov. 3 with her 2023 Toyota 4Runner, which sustained disabling damage to its left front, hood, and undercarriage and was towed, according to an accident report released Friday.
US-56 east of Nighthawk Rd.
Bojan Ruzic, 35, Miami Beach, Florida, hit a deer at 6:43 a.m. Nov. 6 with a 2020 Freightliner semi owned by Tesla Group of Chicago.
Damage to the front third and undercarriage of the semi was characterized as minor.
US-50 east of Remington Rd.
Samantha J. Smith, 34, Derby, hit a deer at 7:12 p.m. Nov. 6 with her 2011 Infinity QX56, which sustained disabling damage to its front, hood, and undercarriage and was towed.
Riding in the car at the time was Pierce Schoenhofer of the same address, whose age was improperly redacted by the sheriff’s department from the public document reporting the accident.
Limestone Rd. south of 320th Rd.
Kaitlyn J. Ivey, 22, Tampa, totaled a 2008 Ford Escape when she drove it off the road to the right and hit a culvert at a field entrance, according to a report by deputy Landis Goodman, who blamed the accident on inattentive driving.
Riding in the sport-utility vehicle at the time were Sage and Wren Svoboda of the same address. Their ages were improperly redacted by the sheriff’s department from the public document reporting the accident.
The SUV was listed as owned by Aidan J. Svoboda of a different Tampa address.
No tickets were listed as being issued.
US-56 east of Meridian Rd.
Chelsea L. Darrow, 39, Marion, hit a deer at 3:57 a.m. Thursday with her 2024 Kia Sportage, which remained drivable with damage to its front and hood.
US-56 east of Alamo Rd.
Ronnie P. Winters II, 29, Marion, hit a deer at 6:45 p.m. Thursday with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado owned by passenger Linda R. Ramirez, 36, of the same address.
Other passengers included Gavin M. Ramirez, 16; Gilbert E. Ramirez, 17; and Robert M. Ramirez and Richard A. Ramirez, whose ages were improperly redacted from the accident report, all of the same address.
The truck remained drivable with damage to its front.
