Centre 7th graders learn about ag education

On February 13, the Centre agriculture education 7th grade students traveled to Udall High School to participate in the South Central District spring junior high ag ed academy.

This is the second event of its kind and provides middle and junior high school students with a glimpse of what the FFA and agriculture education courses have to offer.

Students began the day identifying 100 agriculture items, such as ag equipment, breeds of animals, cuts of meat, plants, flower, weeds, and insects.

Leah Brunner placed 10th, and the Centre team placed sixth.

Students then participated in a series of workshop rotations from presenters from the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Farm Bureau, Conservation Districts, and state and district FFA officers.

Students that participated included Jenna Bittle, Mariah Brasch, Michelle Brasch, Kaigen Brewer, Leah Brunner, Kindleigh Clark, Gentri Holub, Colby Janow, Riley Janow, Santiago Knepp, Nicholas Krch, Karsen Kroupa, Sophia Luna, Paige Madron, Dane Meier, Jenaya Plett, Anthony Potocnik, Dylan Radke, Emilee Remmers, Isabel Rziha, Ellie Smith, Delaney Smith, Allie Stuchlik, and Paige Barton-Whitcomb.
