Chuck Abrahams

Services for former Hillsboro letter carrier Charles “Chuck” L. Abrahams, 86, who died Sunday at Bethesda Home in Goessel, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.

Family will receive friends an hour before the service.

Born Nov. 18, 1934, to Curtis and Anna (Dalke) Abrahams, he graduated from Hillsboro High School, enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1957, and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1963.

He married Genevieve “Genny” Winter on Dec. 2, 1960, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

In addition to working as a letter carrier, he operated a milk route, was a parts manager and salesman, and worked at Circle D into his late 70s.

Survivors include son Brad, daughter Marci Heidebrecht, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Bethesda Home.
