Lack of a quorum at Monday’s city council meeting made for one of the fastest meetings on record.
Only Mayor Todd Heitschmidt and council member Chris Costello showed up for the meeting. In order to have a quorum for a vote, council member John Wheeler, at a sales meeting, was called on speaker phone for two matters.
A mayoral proclamation of pastoral appreciation was read, and the consent agenda was approved by unanimous vote.
State law permits a council member to appear by telephone.
