Dozens of vendors to participate in Park it and Market Saturday

Staff writer

Those searching for weekend entertainment will be able to find a variety of vendors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Central Park.

Parks and Recreation Director Margo Yates said several vendors from Marion, Florence, Hillsboro, Galva, Lincolnville, Cottonwood Falls, and Olathe would be selling from skin care, candles, kitchenware, jewelry, and children’s books to clothing, beef jerky, cotton candy, auto fragrances, furniture, and inspirational items.

“There also will be some crocheted items, metal crafting, and safety products for sale,” Yates said. “Anything goes at this one.”

She explained that the fall version of the event prompted the upcoming event.

“This all started because we don’t do commercial stuff at Art in the Park,” she said. “People wanted a place they could sell Avon, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, and things like that.”

Yates said the smaller event is a shoo-in, still to occur even if there is bad weather because Marion Community Center would be big enough to accommodate everyone.

Those interested in being a vendor or seeking more information should call (620) 382-3425.
