Emergency chief again summoned

Staff writer

Emergency manager Randy Frank had yet another in a long series of executive sessions with county commissioners Tuesday.

Commissioners met for five minutes behind closed doors before calling Frank in to discuss an agreement given to him a week ago.

Frank was on this week’s agenda to respond to that agreement.

When Frank entered Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners called for two consecutive executive sessions, the first with county counsel Brad Jantz present and the second without Jantz.

When open session resumed, commission chairman Randy Dallke said a decision needed to be made regarding an emergency management department truck that recently had to be repaired. Frank had opened the door in high winds, causing $4,293 in damage to the truck.

“Transfer the red truck over to road and bridge; that’s what we need to do,” Dallke said.

Dallke asked if a motion was needed to make the transfer.

County clerk Tina Spencer said the truck would need to be repainted because it says emergency management on the side.
