Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

Nov. 17

9:21 a.m. — An elderly man who was running a fever and confused in the 200 block of Briar Wood Ln., Hillsboro was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

10:57 a.m. — Goessel, Hillsboro and Peabody firefighters were called to a machine shed on fire near 160th Rd. and HWY 15. Hillsboro ambulance was on stand-by.

12:08 p.m. — Hillsboro and Marion firefighters were called to a combine on fire near 140th and Limestone Rds. Peabody and Goessel firefighters also responded to the call since Hillsboro was helping with the first fire.

2:18 p.m. — A 89-year-old man who slipped off the bed in the 500 block of S. Lincoln St. Hillsboro was taken to Newton Medical Center by Hillsboro ambulance. Hillsboro firefighters were also on scene.

4:20 p.m. — A HCH patient was transferred to Wesley Woodlawn Hospital, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance.

nov. 18

8:50 a.m. — A medical alarm was activated in the 100 block of N. B St., Ramona. The person refused to be taken to a hospital by Tampa ambulance.

8:59 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters were called to a gas leak near the Scout House in Memorial Park, Hillsboro.

11:57 a.m. — Burns firefighters were called to Butler County for a grass fire.

12:01 p.m. — Lincolnville, Tampa and Ramona firefighters were called to hay bales on fire near Nighthawk and 310th Rds.

1:34 p.m. — Goessel, Hillsboro, Florence and Peabody firefighters were called to a building that had rekindled near Newell and 80th Rds.

4:13 p.m. — Goessel firefighters were called to a fire that had rekindled near 160th Rd. and HWY 15.

9:27 p.m. — A 60-year-old man who was having trouble breathing and chest pains in the 100 block of N. Washington St., Hillsboro refused to be taken to a hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

thursday

2:00 a.m. — A 60-year-old woman who activated her medical alarm by accident in the 500 block of S. Cedar St., Marion refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

11:38 a.m. — A person having blood sugar problems in the 200 block of S. 4th St., Marion was taken to St. Luke Hospital by Marion ambulance.

1:01 p.m. — An elderly woman who was unresponsive in the 300 block of N. Locust St., Peabody was taken to Wesley Medical Center by Hillsboro ambulance. Marion ambulance and a Peabody first responder was also on scene.

1:40 p.m. — A 64-year-old woman who fell and was bleeding in the 300 block of N. Walnut St., Peabody refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

10:04 p.m. — A 51-year-old man having breathing problems at Westview Manor, Peabody was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

friday

12:35 p.m. — Marion firefighters were called to a report of smoke in the area near Gilham and Upland Rds. No fire or smoke was found.

3:27 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was requested to assist with a patient from the hospital to an air ambulance at the hospitals helicopter pad.

4:11 p.m. — A 72-year-old woman who fell in the 1400 block of E. Denver St., Marion refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

5:21 p.m. — A child had his hand was stuck in a car door at Central Park, Marion. The child’s parents refused Marion ambulance to take him to a hospital.

saturday

11:53 a.m. — Peabody firefighters were called to a gas meter that was run over near Poplar and 5th Sts.

1:39 p.m. — A man who fell and was bleeding in the 700 block of N. Newell St., Peabody was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance. A Peabody first responder was also on scene.

5:56 p.m. — Goessel firefighters were called to a power pole on fire near 170th and Chisholm Trail Rds.

8:41 p.m. — A resident from Westview Manor who was becoming violent was taken to Newton Med by Peabody ambulance by law officer request.

sunday

12:52 a.m. — An 82-year-old man who was unresponsive in the 100 block of Wheat St., Goessel was taken to Newton Med by Hillsboro ambulance. A Goessel first responder was also on scene.

7:43 p.m. — An 82-year-old man who fell in the 100 block of N. Wilson St., Hillsboro, was helped up and refused to be taken to a hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

10:44 p.m. — Hillsboro, Marion and Durham firefighters were called to smoke coming out of a dryer in the 300 block of S. Kennedy St., Hillsboro. No fire was found, Marion and Durham firefighters were canceled.

monday

2:28 a.m. — A man who fell at Westview Manor, Peabody, was taken to Newton Med by Peabody ambulance.

5:06 a.m. — An 82-year-old man who fell in the 100 block of N. Wilson St., Hillsboro was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.

9:28 a.m. — An elderly man who fell in the 200 block in W. B St., Hillsboro was helped up and refused to be taken to hospital by Hillsboro ambulance. A Hillsboro firefighter was also on scene.

11:22 a.m. — Lincolnville, Ramona, Tampa and Lost Springs firefighters, and Tampa ambulance were called to a chimney that was smoking near 300th and Pawnee Rds. No fire was found.

11:45 a.m. — A 60-year-old woman with chest pains in the 400 block of S. Ash St., Hillsboro was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.

1:56 p.m. — A HCH patient was transferred to Salina Regional Health Center by Hillsboro ambulance.

5:14 p.m. — A 96-year-old man who fell near 300th and Goldenrod Rds., was helped up and refused to be taken to a hospital by Tampa ambulance.

7:18 p.m. — A HCH patient was transferred to Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance.

9:45 p.m. — A HCH patient was transferred to Newton Med by Hillsboro ambulance.
