The center had more excitement than it wanted when the electricity went off March 6. With gas ovens, seniors still could have a hot noon meal.

The Lunch Bunch attended that day, the first time since the first of the year because of inclement winter weather. Rhonda Brenzikofer brought treats for her birthday.

Merle Ecklund played his accordion on March 7. Several of his fans from Herington came to eat lunch and enjoy the program. He invited one of them, Berylene Brockmeier, to play the piano, which she did in a fast and fancy style.

A St. Patrick’s Day meal of corned beef and cabbage will be served Thursday. Everyone is invited to wear green.

Senior Center Day is March 21.
