Happy Hustlers

Seventeen members of Happy Hustlers 4-H Club answered the roll call question, “What is your favorite thing you did or would like to do at the state fair,” at their meeting Sept. 12. Five leaders, 12 parents, and seven guests were also in attendance.

July minutes were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was $1,603.52.

Record books are due Oct. 3rd in the extension office. Club members need to have project books to our community leaders by the end of September.

Forty-eight hours of making improvements at the fair grounds and a meal is October 9, and the achievement banquet is Nov. 6.

Kim Harms announced she will not be our community leader. Community leaders will be Jodi Watkins, Justin Smith and Marsha Meyer.

Next month will be installation of new officers. It was suggested that the club have a float in Old Settler’s Day parade. Charlotte James moved the club have a float in the parade. The motion was seconded and carried.

Tristan led the club in the birthday song and “I’m a Little Tea Pot,” and Lane Watkins led the club in Red Rover.

The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at Marion Christian Church.
