Marion Senior Center

It’s a slow summer

Senior Center

With many patrons on vacation, July has been a slow month for the senior center.

John Kline brought ice cream treats July 10 for his birthday.

A countywide committee of site managers Connie Omstead, Gayla Ratzlaff, and Sue Clough convened at the center July 11 to discuss meal service, programs, and activities at each county senior center.

Albert Steele gave a presentation about how he transforms stones into jewelry. Examples were displayed. His wife, Kay, named his jewelry “Red Barn Creations.”

National Day of the Cowboy will be observed Thursday. The center is encouraging patrons to wear cowboy boots and hats and have cowboy-inspired poems or songs to share.
