Marion elementary celebrates Kansas Day

Marion Elementary School will celebrate Kansas Day today from 9 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. with presentations from area guests and art lessons.

Cowboy poet and songwriter Jeff Davidson will give a presentation in the school’s library.

Brent Barkman, with Barkman Honey, will teach students about the honey bee, which is the state insect, in the music room.

Marion High School art teacher Kylie Schroeder and some of her advanced art students will show students how to ink a sunflower.
