Marion-Florence FFA attend national convention

Members of Marion-Florence FFA traveled Oct. 21 to 23 to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 89th National FFA convention.

Members attending from Marion were Raleigh Kroupa, Cade Alleven, Devin Soyez, Shelby Cairns, and Cassie Meyer. Mark Meyer and Salem Cairns were sponsors.

Kroupa received an American FFA degree, which is the highest degree an FFA member can earn.

Marion High School graduate Elizabeth Meyer competed in an extemporaneous public speaking career development event and represented Kansas FFA Association as an official delegate for committee and general sessions.

The group watched awards be presented to national winners, listened to retiring addresses from national FFA officers, and heard keynote addresses form Jason Brown and Colin Ryan.

They also toured Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the National FFA Center in Indianapolis, and the Monsanto research center in St. Louis.
