Mennonite men’s chorus to perform at Tabor

The West Coast Mennonite Men’s Chorus will perform at 6 p.m. May 6 in Richert Auditorium in the Shari Flaming Center for the Arts at Tabor.

Tabor alumnus Leon Thiessen is the choir’s chairman.

“It is exciting to be able to share our unique ministry with people in the Midwest,” Thiessen, said. “Many in our chorus grew up in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado, and still have family in these locations. For me personally, it is a thrill to be able to come back to sing at my alma mater.”

Now in its 41st year, 42 of the ensemble’s 120 members will make the trip to Hillsboro. This will be just the second time the chorus has performed outside of California.

“He is the Amen,” “Jesus Paid it All,” “10,000 Reasons,” “He Made a Change,” and “Holy, Holy, Holy,” arranged by Tabor music professor Bradley Vogel, are among the pieces scheduled to be performed.

A free-will offering will be taken for Mennonite Disaster Service to help with rebuilding homes destroyed by wildfires across the West Coast.

More information about the chorus is available online at www.wcmmc.com.
