REPORTED

These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Theft

Arlene L. Stika of Wichita reported July 12 that a $1,500 stock trailer had been stolen at 1 p.m. April 7 from her farm field near 280th and Xavier Rds.

Theft and criminal damage

Copper wire valued at $5,000 reportedly was stolen and another $5,000 worth of wire was damaged at 12:52 p.m. June 28 at a Kansas Department of Transportation radio tower near 140th and Nighthawk Rds.

The tower relays all police, fire, and ambulance calls in the county. Deputy Derek Fetrow’s report does not indicate whether the incident affected transmissions.

A specific time is listed for the theft and vandalism, which involved forced entry to a building at the tower’s site, but Fetrow indicates that incident was not reported until precisely nine days later.

MARION

Burglary

Ten gallons of gasoline, a toolbox, and 10 hand tools, together valued at $530, were reported stolen between 12:17 and 1:05 a.m. Saturday from a Flamings Inc. building at 113 S. 2nd St.

No sign of forced entry was reported, and the burglary was not reported until 4 p.m. However, police also were dispatched to the same block at an undisclosed time the same day for a commercial alarm.
