SHERIFF

Burglary, criminal damage

A washer and eight toys, together valued at $2,820, were stolen between Feb. 15 and March 15 by a burglar who broke a $25 lock to break into a storage unit at Fleming’s Mini Stor-All, 1798 Upland Rd.

The items, reported stolen by Fleming’s, were owned by Tiffany S. Johnson of Marion, according to an offense report released Friday.

Two locks valued at $30 total also were broken on another storage unit, rented by Richard P. Ciero, rural Marion.

HILLSBORO

Underage drinking and drunken driving

An unidentified juvenile younger than 18 may face charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, transporting an open container of alcohol, and underage consumption and purchase of alcohol after being stopped at 11:39 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of S. Ash St. for having a defective license plate light.

The juvenile was ticketed for the traffic infraction but released to parents pending referral of other possible charges to the county attorney’s office.
