Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Sept. 7 — Report was made of a dog running free in the 200 block of Eisenhower St. Motorists were warned for having excessive exhaus, and for equipment violations. A motorist was cited for speeding in the 600 block of S. Ash St.

Sept. 8 — A motorist received assistance at Kanza Rd. and US-56. A motorist was warned for speeding in the 800 block of E. D St. Police investigated a vehicle at K-15 and US-56 and found that it had lost a wheel.

Sept. 9 — A motorist was warned for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St. Police stopped traffic so a semi could turn around on 190th Rd.

Thursday — Motorists were warned for parking violations at Adams and C Sts. Report was made of a reckless driver on US-56 but no suspect was found. A motorist was cited for driving with a suspended license.

Friday — Dog-owners picked up their dogs that were running free on US-56 near Sonic. Motorists were cited on US-56 for not having a driver’s license or insurance and in the 400 block of Orchard Dr. for not having a driver’s license or car mirror.

Saturday — Motorists were warned for equipment violations in the 300 block of S. Main St., in the 500 block of Orchard Dr., and in the 200 block of E. 1st St. and for failing to stop at a stop sign at Ash and Willow Sts. A motorist was cited for speeding at Orchard and Ash Sts. Charges are pending after marijuana and possible other drugs were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop for failing to stop at a stop sign at Ash and D Sts. Blood samples and suspected illegal substances are being tested.

Sunday — A loose dog was picked up and taken to Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic. Motorists were cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license in the 200 block of S. Adams St., and for speeding in the 300 block of E. D St. A motorist was warned for an equipment violation in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Sept. 7 — Police caught a dog running free and took it to Animal Health Center.

Sept. 8 — Officers checked a vehicle at Central Park but found nothing suspicious. A smell of gas was reported in the 1200 block of E. Main St. but nothing was found. A false alarm was reported in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St.

Sept. 9 — A reckless driver was reported near Industrial Dr. and US-56, but no vehicle was found matching the description given. Report was made of suspicious activity in the 100 block of Elm St., but nothing was found. A man walking on US-56 near city limits was provided a ride home.

Thursday — Police investigated a possible theft in the 1000 block of Industrial Dr. but could not determine whether a theft occurred.

Friday — Motorists were warned for speeding near US-56 and Ridge Rd. and for having a headlight out near US-56 and Timber Rd. Police met with a person about a possible theft.

Sunday — Police were unable to catch a loose dog in the 400 block of S. 4th St. A found cell phone was returned to its owner. A loose dog in the 300 block of N. Freeborn St. was caught and returned to its owner.

Peabody

Sept. 9 — Investigation was made of a Westview Manor resident who may have hit an employee but no offense report was filed.
