Oct. 1 — Officers investigated a fire alarm in Hillsboro Heights and a dog complaint in the 300 block of N. Ash St. They performed a welfare check and assisted with a possible mental health case. A curfew violation in Memorial Park was addressed.

Oct. 2 — Officers made several vehicle stops at the Hillsboro Elementary School over traffic safety issues. A report of a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St. was investigated.

Oct. 3 — Officers took reports of an accident in the industrial park and a reckless driver on D St. A dog complaint in the 200 block of W. B St. was investigated.

Oct. 4 — Dog complaints in the 500 block of E. A St. and the 300 block of N. Main St. were investigated. Officers worked a non-injury traffic accident in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St., assisted with an injury accident at 190th and Kanza, and assisted a motorist at Ash St. and US-56. A report was taken of someone driving on the grass at the sports complex.

Thursday — Officers arrested a subject on warrants in the 400 block of E. 1st St. and took a report of an attempted scam.

Friday — Police investigated a trespass complaint in the 900 block of E. D St., a report of an unattended child walking on Grand Ave., a report of a skunk in a trap in the 200 block of S. Ash St., and a parking complaint in the 300 block of N. Madison St.

Saturday — Police investigated a driving complaint on Indigo Rd. and a report of suspicious activity on Willow Rd.

Oct. 2 — Officers investigated an unattended death.

Oct. 3 — Police took an information report on a possible theft. Officers had an abandoned moped towed from private property.

Thursday — Officers investigated a dog bite in the 200 block of N. Walnut and had the dog quarantined. Officers also took an information report about a possible stolen generator. The generator was located and had not been stolen. Officers investigated burglary of a residence. Police Chief Bruce Burke declined to provide a location because the matter remains under investigation.
