Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Oct. 21 – A reportedly suicidal person was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital for evaluation, and a 911 disconnect was investigated in the 500 block of E. D St. A trespassing complaint was reported in the 300 block of N. Ash St., and a civil standby was provided in the 300 block of N. Ash St. The two incidents were unrelated.

Oct. 22 – A suspicious vehicle was investigated in the 400 block of S. Main St., and a runaway was reported in the 100 block of S. Ash St.

Oct. 23 – An owner received a citation for loose dogs in the 300 block of S. Ash St.

Thursday – A suspicious vehicle was investigated at Western Heights Cir.

Friday – A dog reported missing in the 400 block of S. Main St. was found and returned to its owner.

Saturday – A harassment complaint was reported in the 300 block of W. 3rd St., and a camper hookup was provided at Memorial Park.

Sunday – A traffic complaint was reported on US-56. A domestic disturbance reported in the 100 block of S. Main St. was determined to be verbal only, and no action was taken. A screaming woman was reported in the 500 block of S. Main St., but no one was found.

Marion

Oct. 21 – Suspicious activity was reported in the 400 block of Elm St., and a trespassing incident was reported in the 1100 block of E. Main St. A welfare check was provided in the 700 block of S. Coble St.

Oct. 22 – Officers assisted a person who had fallen in the 500 block of N. Coble St., and a dog owner received a citation for a loose dog in the 400 block of N. 4th St.

Oct. 23 – A pair of loose dogs were returned to their owner, and a suspicious person reported in the 500 block of Walnut St. ended up being someone picking up acorns. A motorist was warned for a headlight out on US-56.

Thursday – Officers assisted a rental company in repossessing overdue rental equipment, and a motorist was warned for brake light out in the 600 block of E. Main St. A motorist was warned for an illegally parked vehicle in the 1000 block of Sherman St., and three motorists were warned for traffic violations on US-56.

Friday – A loose dog report in the 500 block of N. Cedar St. proved unfounded. A possibly suicidal person was reported, but not found. A motorist was warned for tail light out near 5th and Main Sts.

Saturday – An accident report was taken for a vehicle that struck a pole at Casey’s General Store, but the vehicle already left and the pole had no damage. Three motorists were warned for tag lights out.

Sunday – A motorist was warned for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St., and a motorist received a citation for speeding and no proof of insurance. A motorist received a citation for an illegally parked vehicle in the 100 block of W. Jefferson St.

Oct. 22 – A residence complaint was reported at Westview Manor, and a report for an inoperable vehicle in the 800 block of N. Chestnut St. was filed.

Oct. 23 – A fraud attempt was reported in the 200 block of N. Elm St.
