Rodeo coming to Strong City
The state’s oldest continuous annual rodeo will kick off its 80th edition June 1 through 3 in Strong City.
Professional rodeo riders will compete in seven traditional events: bareback riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, saddle bronco riding, team roping and bull riding.
Events for local competitors and kids will be included in three performances at 8 p.m. June 1, 2 and 3.
A Western trade show daily, a kids’ stick-horse rodeo at 6 p.m. nightly, and cowboy and cowgirl dances at 10 p.m. June 2 and 3 are among the other events planned for the three-day Flint Hills Rodeo.
