The other nominations

We’ve heard nothing but good about Trayce Warner, one of two nominees for the new gerrymandered commissioner district that includes the southern but not northern portion of Marion.

She has successfully navigated contentious meetings as a Florence council member and would seem a fine addition to the commission. Her talking points after being nominated were entirely positive.

Her opponent, on the other hand, spent a fair portion of time after his nomination regaling people with his hatred for various people and things, including this writer and this newspaper.

Neither the paper nor I have had much if any dealings with him, certainly none face-to-face.

We’re taken aback by people we barely know telling anyone and everyone how they hate us and wonder whether that sort of attitude is the type of behavior that will worsen rather than solve problems on the county commission.
