St. Luke Hospital officials have confirmed that Jeff Henry M.D. has verbally committed to join St. Luke Medical Clinic in July.

Verona (Phelan) Mullikin is subject of this week’s “A Person Who Made a Difference” article by Amy Smith. A former teacher, Mullikin has led a multi-talented life.

Senior Allison Ford has been selected as student of the month by the Marion High School faculty. Her mother is Joyce Ford of Marion.

Father Richard Stuchlik will celebrate his 25th anniversary as a Catholic priest with a Mass Dec. 26 at Holy Family Parish in Pilsen. He was ordained Dec. 20, 1968, at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

Services for Maude Thompson, 95, for many years a teacher in the Maroon school system, will be Thursday at Marion Christian Church.

Marion High School’s varsity Scholars Bowl team of Mark Engler, LeAnn Hiebert, David Rowe, and Hannah Bennett posted a perfect 10-0 record Saturday, winning a tournament at Junction City. A total of 35 Class 1-4A schools competed.

Juliet Tarantino received a first dollar of profit plaque from Marion Chamber of Commerce ambassadors Dick Varenhorst and Sally Hannaford. Tarantino operates Nadine’s Nursery in the Mini-Mall. She sells handmade clothing for children.
