Eleven people who have belonged to Marion Kiwanis Club for 25 years or more will be recognized Aug. 27 at a district convention in Hays. They are Dean Batt, Alex Case, Rosse Case, L.L. Hadsell, Bill Meyer, Roger Morse, Ira Newcomer, E.K. Schroeder, Homer Stenzel, David Wheeler, and Ollie Wight.
Marion Hardware and other downtown buildings are being restored to their original beauty by sandblasters, painters, and other workers.
Other buildings that have recently received attention include the W.J. Hassinger plumbing shop, the Chamber of Commerce office, the Bakery, and the Morse and Batt building.
Pat Costello, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Costello of Marion and a recent graduate of Boston University Law School, has accepted a position as an investigative reporter for WBZ television in Boston.
Pat Nuss will open her Sassy Shop today in downtown Marion. The store will carry a variety of clothing for women and girls. She plans a grand opening later.
