A densely smoking, long-smoldering fire almost completely damaged the extensive stock of men’s and boy’s clothing Sunday at Jackson Clothing Store. An early estimate of the damage to the contents was placed at $12,000 to the contents and $3,000 to the building.

Cub Scouts and den chiefs Johnnie Newcomer and Michael Brodhead had a campout Wednesday night on Dog Fish Island. Cubs were Dick Hoch, Bill Meredith, Jerry Richards, Jerry Seifert, Bruce Wingerd, and Donald Winters.

Memorial services were Sunday afternoon for Harriet (Locklin) Farr, born Feb. 6, 1864, the first white child born in this community. She remained in the vicinity her entire life.

About 140 alumni were present May 30 at the Lincolnville High School gymnasium for the school’s first alumni banquet. Places were laid for 240 attendees. The first class to graduate was the Class of 1916. One member of that class was present.

At a meeting of Youngtown Church members at the schoolhouse Tuesday evening, it was voted to build a new church building to replace one damaged beyond repair last week by a small twister.
