The best news this area has heard in many months came with the announcement this week that a community hospital definitely will be built in the near future.
Located at the west end of the Main St. bridge is another fine addition to the business district. The building houses Schroeder Produce and Oil Co., owned by W.O. and Karl Schroeder. It will handle Staley feeds and Skelly Oil products. A public open house is planned for the near future.
More than 40 racehorses already are stabled in a large tent at the Saddle Horse Association grounds in anticipation of two days of races scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
The Marion library board has completed an interesting and valuable addition, a scrapbook containing many of the articles written over a period of many years by Mrs. T.B. Matlock, one of Marion’s real pioneers.
The Pilsen parish was honored last week when Bishop Mark K. Carroll of Wichita conducted ceremonies officially dedicating and blessing its new school and hall.
