Details necessary to proceed with hospital plans were agreed upon Wednesday at a special meeting in the office of John E. Wheeler.

Representatives of the Order of Sisters of the Most Precious Blood, who will staff and operate the hospital when it is competed, along with Victor A. Loebsack, Topeka architect, and members of the hospital board discussed the details.

A resolution to start immediate action was unanimously passed.

The newspaper this week passes its 80th birthday, a ripe old age for a business in central Kansas and more than 4,160 weeks of continuous publishing without a miss.

The congregation of the Marion mission of the Catholic church has purchased the Elk church. It will be moved to Cedar and Sherman Sts. A parish has been formed, and a resident priest will be assigned in the next few weeks.

Ollek Café in Lehigh was burglarized Aug. 31. A 34-year-old parolee from California State Prison is in Marion County Jail charged with the burglary.

As has been done in the past, Community Guild will operate a concession stand in the park on Old Settlers Day, Sandwiches, hamburgers, coffee, soup, pie, cold drinks, and ice cream will be served. Guild members are being asked to bring pies.
