MORE

. . . and then there was one

Peabody is down to one public works employee now that Noal Reynolds has resigned to take a job closer to home in Wichita.

Reynolds’ wife was pregnant, which contributed to his decision, Mayor Catherine Weems said Monday.

The family welcomed its new baby just a few days ago.

Jessie Talkington is left as the lone public works employee.

Former public works superintendent Erik Barnes resigned Jan. 7, citing “anger and hostility” he had received from members of the public.

Councilman Kevin Burke has helped provide direction to the public works staff, Weems said.

The city is accepting applications for more public works employees.
