Blood drives planned

With blood drives scheduled for Goessel, Hillsboro, and Peabody in coming weeks, the American Red Cross again is warning of a critical need for blood and platelets, especially from those with Type O blood.

Appointments are being accepted at (800) 733-2767 and RedCrossBlood.org for these county blood drives:

• Oct. 2 — 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at Peabody High School, 810 N. Sycamore St.
• Oct. 7 — 1 to 6 p.m. at Goessel Church, 109 S. Church St.
• Oct. 8 — 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe.

Each donor will receive a $10 Amazon.com gift card and be entered in a drawing for three $5,000 gift cards.
