Centre grads earn national FFA honor

Two former Centre students received American Degrees during a national FFA Convention Saturday in Indianapolis.

Karsen Kroupa is now majoring in plant and soil sciences at Oklahoma State University, and Alexandria Stuchlik is now majoring in horticulture at Kansas State University.

More than 5,162 FFA members, the largest group in the organization’s history, received the award this year.

American Degree recipients must satisfy rigorous requirements, including keep accurate and detailed records of their supervised agricultural experience, earn and invest specific financial amounts, maintain good academic records, and stay involved at the state, chapter and community level.

Other requirements include having received a state degree, being an active member for three years, and having completed the equivalent of at least three years of secondary school instruction in agricultural education.

Stuchlik’s parents are Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik. Kroupa’s parents are Kelvin and Kimberly Kroupa.
