Services for Clifford J. Hett, 79, who died Oct. 14 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion, were Saturday. Burial was in Claney Cemetery.

He was born July 22, 1945, to Ronald G. and Ruby L. (Just) Hett. at Salem Hospital in Hillsboro,

He grew up on a farm near Marion and attended Marion schools, graduating in 1963.

He served in the National Guard in 1965 and 1966 until he was honorably discharged after being in a car accident with his mother.

He and his father bought his first farm in 1965.

He married Evelyn Funk on Feb. 22, 1969, at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. They made their home outside of Aulne.

Survivors include daughter Eileen Schmidt of Peabody; sisters Janie Meierhoff, Louise Whiteman and Alice Nellans; and two grandchildren.

Wife Evelyn, son Calvin, and brother Willard Hett preceded him in death.

A memorial fund has been established with Aulne Bible Church.
