Eclectic music mixture to headline Friday night

A Wichita band that thrilled audiences two years in a row at Goessel Threshing Days will perform at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Chingawassa Days.

The band Steel Skarecrow blends classic and contemporary country with rock and roll, red dirt, and western swing.

Band members are:

  • Kurt Shobe, lead and harmony vocals, lead and acoustic guitar.
  • Kristopher Howell, lead and harmony vocals, bass guitar.
  • Rollin Schmidt, steel guitar, fiddle, acoustic guitar, dobro.
  • Mark Clemons, lead and harmony vocals, drums.

The band’s newest — and third — album includes the songs “The Sweetest Thing,” “Old Keys, New Doors,” “Route 66 Blues,” “Liquid Courage,” “Kathy Lives on California Avenue,” “Thinkin’ Bout You,” “Chasin’ the Sunset,” “Queen of Memphis,” “Bluest Eyes In Texas,” and a live version of “Goodbye Says It All.”
