Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper:

FEB. 17

12:21 a.m. — An uninjured 95-year-old woman who fell at a farm home near 220th Rd. and K-15 was helped by Hillsboro ambulance attendants. She declined to be taken to a hospital.

12:22 a.m. — A lethargic 57-year-old woman vomiting blood at a home in the 100 block of W. 7th St. in Florence after a surgical procedure was checked by Marion ambulance attendants. She declined to be taken to a hospital.

8:07 a.m. — A 34-year-old man having trouble breathing behind Marion Auto Supply was taken to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, by Marion ambulance.

3:59 p.m. — A 67-year-old man receiving intravenous medication was transferred by Hillsboro ambulance from Hillsboro Community Hospital to McPherson Center for Health.

7:20 p.m. — Fire that fully engulfed a vehicle after the vehicle became stuck in mud and overheated near 50th and Alfalfa Rds. was extinguished within 30 minutes by Burns firefighters, who also battled a three-acre grass fire. The vehicle’s driver, who burned her hand in the fire, was checked by Marion ambulance attendants, who had to stop before reaching the fire because of the mud. Firefighters took the woman to the ambulance aboard an all-terrain vehicle. She declined to be taken to a hospital. A tow truck was called to extricate the ambulance.

8:01 p.m. — Ramona firefighters traveled to Dodge City to help battle grass fires in southwest Kansas.

FeB. 18

10:53 a.m. — Goessel firefighters traveled to Ashland to help battled grass fires in southwest Kansas.

11:58 a.m. — A grass fire at 360th and Pawnee Rds. was for the most part extinguished within an hour by Ramona, Lost Springs, Tampa, and Herington firefighters. Some units remained at the fire until 2:41 p.m.

7:01 p.m. — A 43-year-old woman with abdominal pain at a home in the 600 block of S. Lincoln St. in Hillsboro was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.

7:16 p.m. — A 90-year-old man found on the floor after falling several days earlier at a farm home on the McPherson County line between 100th and 110th Rds. was taken by private vehicle to a hospital before Marion ambulance and Goessel first responders arrived.

THURSDAY

No dispatches.

FRIDAY

12:21 a.m. — Ramona and Goessel firefighters returned from southwest Kansas.

8:21 a.m. — Marion ambulance was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Freeborn St. in Marion for a report from an alarm company about a person who had fallen. The person declined to be taken to a hospital.

6:55 p.m. — At the request of Peabody police, Hillsboro ambulance was dispatched to Westview Manor in Peabody for an out-of-control 24-year-old man who suffered a minor abrasion. He was checked but not taken to a hospital.

SATURDAY

No dispatches.

SUNDAY

8:29 a.m. — An 84-year-old man who slid out of bed and felt weak at a home in the 600 block of S. Lincoln St. in Hillsboro declined to be taken to a hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

2:18 p.m. — Tampa ambulance and Durham first responders were dispatched to a medical alarm for a 97-year-old woman with an unspecified problem at a home in the 300 block of 7th St. in Durham. She declined to be taken to a hospital.

MONDAY

8:07 a.m. — An 88-year-old man with angina was transferred by Marion ambulance from St. Luke to NMC Health, formerly Newton Medical Center.

9:09 a.m. — A 16-year-old girl who suffered a seizure at a farm near 80th and Limestone Rds. declined to be taken to a hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

10:17 p.m. — A person injured in a head-on collision of a semi-trailer truck and a GMC Sierra on US-56/77 near 350th Rd. was freed from wreckage by Lincolnville, Lost Springs, and Herington firefighters and taken on a non-emergency basis to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, by Marion ambulance. Hillsboro and Tampa ambulances, an ambulance supervisor, and a helicopter ambulance also were dispatched but were not needed.
