Hillsboro to celebrate season Saturday

Hillsboro plans a slate of Christmas activities Saturday. Activities include:

9 to 11 a.m. — Midway Motors will sponsor a visit from The Grinch. Free digital photos with kids will be taken and sent to parents.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — The Et Cetera Shop will have free photos with Santa and give away candy canes.

Hillsboro museums will be open. The school house will have Christmas traditions from around the world, the adobe house will have a pioneer Christmas, and Schaeffler house will feature a Victorian Christmas.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — DJ Mac will play Christmas songs in front of the Chamber of Commerce office and a horse-drawn sleigh from Brudertal Church will be on display.

Vendors will sell gifts in the city building and Bluejay Lanes. Items will include multi-level marketing merchandise, crafts, baked goods, cleaning products, kitchenware, home décor items, and home-crafted extracts for cooking.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — A chili and cinnamon roll lunch to go at Chamber of Commerce Office, 110 N. Main St. will cost be $8 for a single meal and $25 for a family meal that serves four.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Nex-Tech Wireless will offer free tree ornaments and other giveaways.

3 p.m. — A tree-lighting ceremony will be at 3 p.m. Emprise Bank will serve free hot chocolate during the ceremony.
